Recently the representatives from PTT Sri-Racha Oil Depot and PTT Khao-Boya Gas Depot of PTT Pubilc Company Limited has assigned the task to installation a ship berthing aid system (Laser Docking System) for assist all ships easy entering and berthing the jetty,total work is four jetties under the project of supply and installation the Berthing Aid system.Delivery work by the representatives from A. & Marine (Thai) Company Koden Electronics Co.,Ltd. from Japan.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]For this project,the PTT\u2019s Jetties have installed the Berthing Aid System (Laser Docking System) at 2 jetties of Sri-Racha Oil Depot (Jetty number 4 and 6)and 2 jetties of Khao-Boya Gas Depot (Jetty number 1 and 2) as well as all 4 jetties. This system will assist all ships easy to berthing and mooring ship at position loading tower of jetty by using the laser beam from the laser head device installed at the jetty as sensor to monitoring the movement of ship,distance between the ship away from the jetty,degree angle in the berthing jetty and measure speed of the ship while berthing.The objective is to ensure safety and reduce accidents. The PTT staff can access berthing operation data from Jetty control room and these data can transfer via radio link to a receiver unit on board ship as useful for pilot or captain in their berthing ship operation.
\nThe Laser Docking System is manufactured by Koden Electronics Co.,Ltd. from Japan who has recorded to sales contributions this system to the major ports both in japan and international more than 130 sets. it is suitable for installed with the ports or jetties transportation of oil or gas with the loading Tower because the laser docking system will help pilot or captain to bring the ship berthing at the jetty in precise, safety, saving time and cost savings over the traditional berthing method. Although it will have strong wind or high waves at the front of jetty, it does not pose a difficulty to their berthing ship operation.
